Device Working Modes
The device has the following two working modes:
At any given time, the device can only operate in one of the following modes

| Mode | Description |
| Platform Mode | The device connects to the Tongruan IoT Platform. This is the default mode when the device leaves the factory. |
| Private Deployment Mode | Based on your configuration on the platform, the device can operate in either Gateway Mode or Broker Mode. |
Working Mode Switching
Method 1:
Enable the debugging hotspot and restart the device. The device will connect to the platform.
Disable the debugging hotspot and restart the device. The device will enter Private Deployment Mode according to the private deployment configuration.
How to Enable Debugging Hotspot
Please enable a 2.4G wireless hotspot at the device location:

unisoft.cnThis is a preset network for device debugging. When connected to this hotspot, the device will ignore the private deployment configuration and connect to the platform.
Method 2:
Switch the device's working mode using the button on the device and by observing the LED indicator:All devices have at least one operable button and one LED indicator
If there are multiple buttons or indicators, use the leftmost one.
- Step 1 Press and hold the device button until the indicator starts flashing rapidly
At this point, the device is ready to enter the configuration state - Step 2 Release the button when the indicator stops flashing and stays on
At this point, the device has entered the configuration state - Step 3 Press the button multiple times consecutively according to the table below
The device will then restart and enter the specified working mode

If the device fails to enter the expected working mode, please check according to the table below

| Timing for Switching Operations |
When switching device modes, the interval between each step should not exceed 3 seconds. That is: after the indicator stops flashing and enters the configuration state [Step 2 above], if there is no operation within 3 seconds, the device will restart. |
| Entering Platform Mode Without Public Network Access | The device needs to connect to the platform (deployed on the public cloud) to enter Platform Mode. In scenarios where public network access is unavailable, you need to enable the debugging hotspot mentioned above. |
| How to Restart the Device | After the indicator stops flashing and enters the configuration state [Step 2 above], do not perform any operations. The device will restart after 3 seconds. |
| Device Mode After Restart | After mode switching, the device will restart immediately and enter the specified mode. After restarting again, the device will enter the working mode you specified for it on the platform. |
